Composite, is slightly more expensive than cedar and never needs staining. I find it doesn't have the warmth of wood though and I have a client that has put an indoor/outdoor rug over it because they found it slippery in the winter. Cedar is the next most expensive material, looks the best when installed, however can be very high maintenance if you are trying to keep the fresh new look to it, best to let it go grey or use a product from The Cedar Shop called Lifetime which acts as a one time preservative/stain to be used a year later. Pressure Treated lasts a long time, never needs treatment and is the cheapest. On a Cedar deck, I use Pressure Treat Wood for all the framing. Please call us for more information.
